The ineloquent ramblings of a Disabled Entrepreneur & Social Media Maven
In: Life
19 May 2009That got your interest didn’t it?!
I’m not really sure how these kind of blog posts are supposed to go, but I’ve been wanting to say something for about a week now, and I don’t really know how to say it. So I’ve decided to just write, and hopefully it will all come out in the right order! Apologies in advance that it’s nowhere near as eloquent as Molly’s post about Brandon over on Orangette, but, well… you get what you get, OK?
Thing is… I’ve met someone. Yes, I know what you’re thinking.. “Dan? Met someone? Pull the other one!” – but it’s true. She’s called Rachel, and although we haven’t been seeing each other that long, I feel confident this is something meant to last.
So, you want to know everything? Well, you can’t… at least not yet. She hasn’t told her family, so I have to be careful what I say just in case it gets picked up somewhere. What I can tell you is that she’s 32, and we met on Twitter of all places! Well, I am a geek… what did you expect?
We’ve spent a few weekends together (she lives quite a distance away)… and, yknow, it just feels right? It’s almost like we were seperated at birth (although hopefully not!) – seriously, we have that much in common. Pretty much the same likes/dislikes, the same love of technology and music, passion for perfection, appreciation of the monarchy, etc. She even likes Snooker for heaven sakes!!
And I have to say… I’ve never been happier. It’s an amazing feeling, knowing there is someone out there who is thinking of you, caring about you, and wants to be with you. Quite un-nerving if I’m honest – I was beginning to think it would never happen!
I can’t wait to tell you lots more about Rach, her family, her cats and her unusual job. I’d love to post pics for you too, and maybe even her Twitter ID so you can talk to her yourselves. Alas, you’ll have to wait a bit longer for those!
In the meantime, wish me luck – I really don’t want to blow this!!
